Looking for a part-time role that truly makes a difference — with a full week off every other week?

Step into something meaningful with Active Care in the Home and help us build a brand-new care team supporting a bright, spirited 20-year-old young woman in Barnstaple, Devon.

About the role:

We’re creating a dedicated team of Support Workers to provide specialist care when our client returns home from her residential setting. She spends two days at home with her family every other week — and that’s where you come in.

Our client has learning disabilities, global developmental delay, and is non-verbal. She’s full of personality and thrives with the right support around her. You’ll never work alone — every shift is double-up, meaning you’ll always be alongside another Support Worker.

This is a unique opportunity to build a consistent, meaningful connection with one individual and become an important part of her home life.

If you’re compassionate, dependable, and looking for structured part-time hours within a truly supportive environment, this could be the perfect fit.

When you will be working:

We have both waking night shifts available on a consistent two-week rolling pattern:

Potential to transition to a bi-weekly schedule of 24 contracted hours upon successful completion of the probation period.

Week 1:

  • Monday & Tuesday, either Day or Waking Nights: 8am-8pm, 8pm–8am (2 x 12-hour shifts)

Week 2:

  • Enjoy the entire week off

This pattern repeats every two weeks, giving you consistency and a fantastic work-life balance.

What to look forward to:

  • Earn up to £13.50 per hour (depending on experience)

  • Full specialist training, shadow shifts, and ongoing support from your Care Manager

  • Access to the Active Learning Hub – e-learning & in-person development

  • Holiday pay, regular monthly rotas, and a Nest pension

  • Be recognised through our Active Awards programme

  • Refer a friend and earn up to £1,500

  • A chance to build a meaningful career with the backing of a leading clinical and business team

This is more than just a job — it’s a chance to build a trusted connection with one individual and make a genuine difference in her life.

Apply today and become part of something special with Active Care in the Home.

*Please note we are recruiting a Female Support Worker due to a genuine occupational requirement of the person we support therefore this role is exempt from the Equality Act 2010 Part Schedule 9
