About the role:

Active Care in the Home are expanding our client base.

We’re looking to recruit a brand-new team of Support Workers to care for our brand new young client in Alton.

Our client is a 16 year old teenage boy who has cerebral palsy, epilepsy and a gastrostomy tube for all nutritional and medication needs. He requires oxygen PRN, full support with personal care and manual handling, is non-verbal, and is a wheelchair user.

He attends school during the day, so we will be providing care before & after school, at the weekends, and overnight.

Day time shifts will be 2:1 (double up shifts). The sleeping night shifts will be 1:1 support.

We have the following shifts:

  • Weekday mornings (7am-10am) and evenings (3pm-8pm) – please note that this is term time hours. During non-term time the hours change to long day shifts 8am-8pm
  • Weekends (8am-8pm)
  • Sleeping nights (9pm-7am) – please note that this is term time hours. During non-term time the hours change to 7pm-8am

In this role, you’ll support one individual with complex needs, working regular weekly shifts to build a consistent, trusted care team. While hours are usually stable, the position is offered on a zero-hours contract as care packages can change.

What to look forward to:

  • Earn up to £14 per hour (depending on experience)

  • Full specialist training, shadow shifts, and ongoing support from your Care Manager

  • Access to the Active Learning Hub – e-learning & in-person development

  • Holiday pay, regular monthly rotas, and a Nest pension

  • Be recognised through our Active Awards programme

  • A chance to build a meaningful career with the backing of a leading clinical and business team
